Our Beginnings As RevoluSun 
RevoluSun Smart Home began in 2006 as a solar installation and service company in Honolulu, Hawaii with the mission of spreading renewable energy and protecting the environment. By the mid 2010s, RevoluSun had grown tremendously fast and was highly successful in the solar industry.
Since 1997, our CEO Matt Powers has been a pioneer in the electrical industry. He was a key part of Northeast Electrical Services where he performed local electrical work before one day when he discovered residential solar. Fascinated, he set out to start Northeast Solar Services in 2012. However, there was barely any solar industry in Massachusetts and it was challenging to run a new business without additional resources. Matt partnered with RevoluSun to create a Massachusetts franchise of RevoluSun, RevoluSun Massachusetts. By June 2012, RevoluSun Massachusetts officially began installing solar systems in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. During our first year in business, we completed only a handful of installations with only a handful of local employees. Then, every year that passed we doubled installations from the year prior. We created strong customer bases along Greater Boston, the North Shore, Metrowest, and even Western Massachusetts.
Over time, our team grew and our product line grew. When we began in 2012, we just installed top-tier solar panel systems. By 2022, we’ve expanded our product line to include home batteries, energy monitors and smart electrical panels, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, and more.
We’ve also prioritized the community. We donate every year to the Arbor Day Foundation, the People’s Food Bank of Burlington, and other local nonprofits, and even host community giveaways like our 10-year anniversary giveaway in 2022 and our Energy Independence Giveaway in 2017.
Our success through the years has been recognized by several prominent organizations. Because of our commitment to customer excellence, we’ve earned an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Northshore Home Magazine named RevoluSun the Editor’s and Readers’ Choice. We have also been named a Top 10 Residential Solar Installer in MA by Solar Power World, along with being included in the top 500 solar installers in the country.
Moving Forward As Solaris Renewables
In April 2023, we detached ourselves from the RevoluSun name and began our own solar company, changing our name to Solaris Renewables.
Although we are no longer affiliated with RevoluSun, there is no juicy story to share. When Matt Powers started Northeast Solar Services in 2012, there was barely a solar industry in Massachusetts. It made sense to partner with RevoluSun, a highly successful solar installer that was looking to create franchises throughout the United States. For the duration of our time in Massachusetts, we have been locally owned and operated. So, when our franchise agreement with RevoluSun expired, both sides agreed that the time was right for us to move forward independently and continue the work we have already been doing for over a decade.
Our company’s commitment to providing top-tier solar systems and exceptional customer service remains unchanged. Customers can still expect to work with the same experienced team members who have been with the company for years. Solaris Renewables will continue to use the best products with industry-leading warranties, maintain the same partnerships and affiliations, and focus on our local presence.
