This solar case study features Ed and Bernice in Portsmouth, NH, who actually signed up for solar with a different company before finding Solaris Renewables. We’ll cover their story in this case study.
Changing Their Minds From Leasing To Purchasing
Ed and Bernice in Portsmouth, NH knew they wanted to go solar for a while. They shopped around, interviewed multiple contractors, researched the internet high and low, and even attended educational seminars on residential solar energy. When they thought they knew what they wanted, they pulled the trigger on a solar lease, but not from Solaris Renewables. After receiving documents from their chosen solar company, they decided a solar lease wasn’t for them, but the company they selected only offered leases (no outright purchases or solar loan options, which is common in the solar industry. Solaris prides ourselves on providing diverse financing options for all types of homeowners to go solar).
Meeting Solaris Renewables
Ed and Bernice went back online to hunt for a reputable solar installer that offered solar system ownership rather than leasing. The Portsmouth couple quickly found Solaris, as we are located not too far from Portsmouth and we popped up on Google. They noticed our 4.8/5 star rating and glowing reviews, informative website, and how we offer solar purchasing that they decided to give us a call. Our Sales Specialist, Danielle, picked up the phone immediately and started talking with Ed, where he expressed his concerns on exactly what he and his wife wanted. Since Ed knew exactly what he wanted, Danielle booked his assessment with Todd, one of our most straight-forward Project Developers. Both Ed and his wife appreciated Todd’s honesty and zero-pressure attitude.
Ed & Bernice’s Solar Project in Portsmouth, NH
After meeting with Todd, the southern New Hampshire couple confidently signed up for solar with Solaris. We begin our projects as soon as the solar agreement is signed, so our team got to work right away. Our Design Specialist, Jack, flew a drone over Ed and Bernice’s Portsmouth home to calculate and record their roof measurements, azimuth, roof tilt, and other factors that determine their “Site’s Science.” Then, Solaris’s Engineers, Brock and Jordon, began creating a formal solar design based on the measurements gathered by our drone. Once we had a proposed solar design, we confirmed it with Ed and Bernice to make sure it was exactly what they wanted. Once the design was approved, our Permit & Interconnection Coordinator, Lou, began his work with the couple’s utility company, Eversource, to obtain Permission to Construct (PTC). Once Solaris had PTC from Eversource, Lou applied for building and electrical permits with the City of Portsmouth.
Sometimes, for unforeseen reasons, the solar permit process with towns and cities takes more time than usual, which was the case in Ed and Bernice’s project in Portsmouth, NH. Getting solar permits from the City of Portsmouth took longer than usual for Ed and Bernice’s solar project (but that doesn’t always happen). Still, our team stayed on top of Portsmouth city commissioners to collect building and electrical permits for the couple’s project. Once we received the permits, we planned the installation immediately. The installation went smoothly and Ed reported that the Solaris team did not disrupt their daily routine, make a mess, or anything else that would be otherwise unprofessional.
The Final Product
In his testimonial, Ed also shared that his Solaris solar system blends in well with his home. We pride ourselves on designing and building the most aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive solar systems in New England. Between cutting-edge wire management to hide wires and all-black solar panels without any unsightly lines, our solar installations look and perform the best around.
Built & Warrantied For The Future
Lastly, it’s certainly worth mentioning that Solaris has one of the most comprehensive warranties in the solar industry, and Ed noticed. Listen, warranties matter…. a lot. Solar is a long-term product and service. It’s not just about aesthetics or wiping out your electric bill now, it’s about financial security over the long run. Through our exclusive partnerships with top solar manufacturers, we’re able to offer our customers the longest and most thorough solar panel warranties in the industry. Solaris also has a Power Production Guarantee so that all of our customers can feel secure knowing their solar production estimates are valid and backed up in the case we overestimate your solar production.
